I love red, and I love poppies. I guess that is why this was one of the first Lollipops! It was the second design for a spindle, actually. I was looking at a book about quilts and an appliqued one caught my eye. It was turkey red and green and I loved it. So, this Lollie was inspired by that quilt. I wish I could remember the name of the quilt!

BTW, all the wallpaper and all the background images on this site are from my worksheets for designing spindles and I left this wallpaper in it's original form. The yellow paint says "Red Poppies Feb. 1, 1997".

There were 113 Red Poppies numbered when it was retired on December 31, 1998. These Lollipops are still available at some Lollipops dealers.
